Case Study: Football for Hope

Using the power of football to reach communities in need,the scalable program consists of a youth football pitch and a gathering space to house community-based social and economic programs, including health and educational outreach. Sure, you can build in a community. But, when the community is part of the project, it can thrive. In Khayelitsha Township, South Africa, children built the mosaic mural for the building. It was amazing to work on with the children and also to see their pride on the final installation.

In addition to the 2010 World Cup host country of South Africa,
community centers are also located in Namibia, Mali, Kenya, Rwanda, Ghana and Lesotho. Local resources and teams were used in each building. |
